Mandy Metallic

With over two decades of experience along the Restigouche River, I bring a wealth of knowledge and dedication to my work. I started my roots in Scientific Research, then moved on to work as a Listuguj Ranger —leading me to my current role as an Administrative Assistant at the Mi’gmawei Mawio’mi Secretariat. This transition marks the fulfillment of a long-standing ambition to work in administration, which led me back to the classroom. I am a recent graduate of Secretarial Studies from the Eastern Shores School Board in Quebec, reflecting my commitment to continuous learning and growth.

Listuguj has always been my home. It’s where I’ve built my life, surrounded by family. I am a married mother of four, blessed with three sons, a stepson, a step-grandson, and a beautiful granddaughter. My family has been a source of inspiration, pride, and strength. In 2014, my son Spencer honoured our family with the MMS Writer’s Award for his poignant story “Write Back Older Brother,” which brought attention to the disappearance of my other son, Chris, who has been missing since 2012.

  The quest to find Chris has been the focus of my life for the past 11 years and I will continue to search for him and use my story as a source of support for parents of missing children who are living with ambiguous loss.
