The Agnutmatesnu team is dedicated to facilitating discussions and negotiations with the Province of Quebec and the Federal Government on behalf of the Mi'gmawei Mawio'mi (MM). Their expertise lies in securing the recognition, protection, and implementation of Aboriginal and Treaty Rights and Title through bilateral and trilateral negotiation processes.

For nearly two decades, the Secretariat has been entrusted with the vital task of carrying out the directions of the Leadership from our three communities: Gesgapegiag, Gespeg, and Listuguj. Our overarching goal has remained throughout the years—to work tirelessly for the betterment of the citizens of Gespe’gewa’gi.

The Ango'tmeg Nm'tginen (AN) ensures safe and sustainable natural resource development in Gespe'gewa'gi. As stewards of the land, the Mi'gmaq people actively collaborate with the government, providing a Mi'gmaw perspective that prioritizes water conservation and holistic development. The AN consults on resource projects, forms the Gespe'gewa'gi Management Plan (GMP), protects caribou, mitigates impacts of vacation lots, and oversees toponomy. All development projects in Gespe'gewa'gi are endorsed by the community's leadership, ensuring informed decision-making.
